Nap time is the best time.

Published by robsalmp at 1:45 am under Uncategorized Edit This

As with everything in life some times are going to be better then others in this journey of being a parent.  Kids are truly a blessing but they are also a great handful.  I learned after a short time that my favorite times with my boys are when they are sleeping.  Yes of course the fact that there is silence is a big part of why I enjoy this time so much but, it is not the biggest.

If you are a parent already you know that the one thing in this world your son or daughter wants more then anything is to be held by Mom or Dad.  Whenever they are tired they somehow find their way into your arms and rest their head on your shoulder and allow themselves to be put to sleep.  Doing this is one of my first memories with my older son and it became a routine very quickly for both of us, as well as for his younger brother.

Now that they are a little older nap time has become the #1 part of my day.  You may not remember but being a kid is tough work.  There is always something that you want to do or feel as if you have to do.  You are constantly crying, and can never get what you want right when you want it.  It’s exhausting!  So nap time is when you can jump in the bed with Mom or Dad be read a story or watch a movie and be held close.  During those times nothing is wrong with the world.  From Dad’s perspective or yours.

I personally love having one under each arm until they fall asleep and since I work nights I get to nap with them.  It gets a little cramped because it seems as if my boys can’t get close enough to me and are always trying to nestle closer.  I still have some time for this before they get too big for this, but I’ll tell you what, just thinking about when they are going to be all grown up makes me miss nap time already.
